In ancient Greek mythology, there was a god named Ponos (Πόνος)—the god of hard work and effort. His name means "labor" or "struggle."
Ponos was a spirit that represented the tiring work, the heavy lifting, the deep exhaustion that workers have always known—working hard just to get by.
